The Z15 Pro is the undisputed best Zcash ASIC miner available in 2025. Its 302 Sol/W efficiency is 9% better than the Z15 and more than three times better than legacy Innosilicon hardware. The 840 KSol/s hashrate - double the Z15 - in essentially the same power envelope makes this the obvious choice for any new ZEC mining deployment.
Requires 240V power supply and generates approximately 9,500 BTU/hour of heat. Plan cooling infrastructure before ordering. Recommended pool: F2Pool or Luxor (North America).
The standard Z15 remains a solid performer. If you already own Z15 units running profitably, keep them. If you're choosing between buying a Z15 vs Z15 Pro new, always choose the Pro - the efficiency improvement compounds meaningfully over a 2–3 year operating window. The Z15's advantage is secondary market pricing: used units can often be found at significant discounts that close the ROI gap versus new Pro hardware.
The Z15J's 200 Sol/W efficiency is noticeably below both Z15 variants. Profitability at $0.10/kWh or above is marginal at current ZEC prices. Existing owners at sub-$0.08/kWh electricity can continue operating. Not recommended for new purchases.
The Antminer Z11 (95 Sol/W), Innosilicon A9++ (90 Sol/W), and A9+ (80 Sol/W) are operating losses at virtually any realistic electricity rate. The Z15 Pro delivers 6× more hashrate on 80% more power - sub-100 Sol/W hardware cannot compete. Power them down, recover the electricity cost, and redeploy capital toward modern equipment if continued ZEC mining makes sense for your operation.
Your effective $/kWh is the single most important number. Calculate it by dividing your total monthly bill by total kWh - not just the advertised supply rate. This determines which hardware is viable for you.
Use our profitability calculator with your real electricity cost and current ZEC price. Focus on monthly profit, not daily ZEC yield - electricity and hardware cost determine whether you're actually making money.
Each Z15 Pro needs 240V power, adequate ventilation for 9,500 BTU/hour heat, and a stable internet connection. Measure your electrical panel capacity before ordering. Infrastructure surprises erase projected ROI.
F2Pool for reliable PPS+ payouts globally; Luxor for the lowest fee (0.5%) if you're in North America. Set up your pool account and wallet before hardware arrives - you'll want to start mining immediately.
